Reminders on REALTORĀ® safety
1. Keep a radio or TV playing loudly in a back room when you're alone in the office.
2. When you have a new client, ask him/her to stop by your office and complete a Prospect Identification Form. Get the client's car make and license number. Photocopy the driver's license. Retain this information at the office.
3. Upon entering a house for the first time, check all rooms and determine several "escape" routes. Make sure all deadbolt locks are unlocked to facilitate a faster escape.
4. Make sure that if you use the back door, you can escape from the backyard. Frequently, high fences surround yards that contain swimming pools or hot tubs.
5. Program your emergency phone numbers onto your office line as well as your mobile phone. Keep a print out of emergency numbers at your desk.
6. When you're alone getting into your car, the first thing you should do is lock the doors. Be observant when approaching your car, looking underneath and in the back seat before entering.
