What's Twitter?

When people mention web 2.0 they also mention Twitter as an example. Twitter, as an application, enables people to post short messages (140 characters) to let your network or community of friends know what you're doing. That's pretty much what you will read at www.twitter.com about their mission : it's a service so that people can stay connected through exchanging short messages that answer only one question - what are you doing?

Some have suggested that Twitter can be a marketing tool. More about that in another post.
