What happens when you put techies and producers together?

Animoto, a web application that generates videos using patent-pending technology to produce videos with the visual energy of a music video and the emotional impact of a movie trailer.

So, we decided to give it a try. It was simple! First, we added a dozen "screen shots" of websites. Then we selected a song to accompany the video. We clicked a button that said to "finalize".

That's it. Take a look at about 10 minutes or so of work.

Google search tips

Here's a suggestion for using Google to search a specific website.

Have you ever visited a site where they do not have a search capability? And you are having difficulty in locating specific information?

Use this format: Phrase or Keyword site:domain

For example you need information on customizing websites at www.webcubic.com. Enter this into Google.

customization:webcubic.com

Here's another situation. You are searching for information but find that there is another term that influences the search meaninglessly.

Use this format: Search Phrase -excluded word

For example you want information real estate websites but nothing to do with templates. Enter this into Google

real estate websites -templates

Twitter - part 2

We mentioned Twitter a couple of posts ago.

The most obvious usage is in a purely social setting. "What are you doing?" "I am at Starbucks enjoying my coffee and a new book." "Leaving for the movies."

Is there a potential business use? Yes, there is. The premise remains the same - short communications to stay in touch. Let your prospects know what's new in the industry and in your company. Become a provider of short bulletins for them.

To get started (after having a Twitter account) add your Twitter link to your signature block, website, and blog.
